Discussion On Confucian Feelings And Confucianism Practice Of Fei Xiaotong

As an outstanding sociologist as well as a modern scholar in China, Fei Xiaotongunswervingly observed and studied the domestic social and cultural issues from the view ofsociology and anthropology and made significant contributions for the development ofChinese sociology. All through his life, he paid great attentions to the Chinese traditionalculture; Confucianism was casually revealed from his ideas and theories though he neverdeemed himself as a Confucian scholar or that his works were rarely involved in theConfucian culture.Through the exploration of the relationship between Fei Xiaotong and Confucianism, theauthor wants to expound and prove Fei’s Confucian feelings, practice and introspection inaccordance with the logic thread of "Rural China","enrich people philosophy","culturalself-consciousness" and the Confucian classics "Saint outside the king”.Based on the "the Confucian feelings and Confucianism practice of Fei Xiaotong”, thethesis made the interpretation from two parts. On one hand, it investigated the Confucianculture from Fei’s anthropological and sociological viewpoint and tried to prove therationality of Confucian culture’s emergence and development from his experienceperspective; on the other hand, it wanted to re-construct Fei Xiaotong’s academic works andthoughts from the Confucian perspective, discuss the emerged connotational Confucianismand Confucian practice so as to enrich his theory researches. In addition, the thesis aimed torebuild and demonstrate the connections between Fei Xiaotong and Confucianism, and thus tointerpret his inheritance, practice and reflection of the Confucian culture by discussing the"Rural China","enrich people philosophy" and "cultural self-consciousness". Ultimately, theauthor hopes to provide some reference significance for the associated studies between FeiXiaotong and the Confucianism traditions.
