In the modern relationship of schools, the teacher-student relationship is a basic one, and it is also a breakthrough in school educational reform. In China, for the reasons of policy, the teachers of only child have become an important part in school teachers. As a new and special social group, what the real professional life status is, how the relationship with the only child students is, and what the impact to teachers professional development and students overall development is, such as these fundamental questions relating to the development of schools, academics have not paid great attention or did some studies. Therefore, an empirical study on the status of the relationship between only child teachers and students is to identify problems, and then we should try to find the reasons between them, so as to establish a new type of teacher-student relationship. This study uses the ways of questionnaires and interviews, and takes only child teachers within three years in urban areas of primary school as research subjects. According to collating the data and making analysis by SPSS19.0scientifically, we can conclude the following conclusions:the overall relationship between teachers and students is in a good level, and teachers and students feel little difference in the same dimensionality. And then analyze the factors affecting the teacher-student relationship:whether the teacher is a head teacher, whether the student is a class leadership, as well as students’ gender. On this basis of the reasons, I put forward the recommendations to improve the relationship between teachers and students, including the following two aspects:first, the only child teachers of primary schools need to improve their own literacy continuously; second, all parts collaborate together to improve the level of social support for the only child primary school teachers.
