At present,China is in a critical period of economic development and social transformation,and under the influence of urbanization and modernization,great changes are taking place in China’s rural family structure and function,as well as in the educational system of villages and towns everywhere.As an important factor of parent-child relationship,family network and construction,parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship will affect the physical development,psychological maturity and personality integrity of rural children,this paper analyzes the current situation of loneliness and parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship among primary school students in southwest Shandong Province,and discusses the influence of parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship on loneliness.Through the survey of 235 rural students(and their parents),the study found that:(1)the level of loneliness,parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship in rural primary school students were basically good;(2)parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship are negatively correlated with loneliness,and parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship have a great influence on loneliness.(3)parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship both negatively predicted loneliness separately,moreover,they predicted loneliness at the same time;(4)the two dimensions of parent-child communication,and the dimension named intimacy of teacher-student relationship negatively predicted loneliness,while the dimensions named conflict positively predicted loneliness.The results show that parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship are important factors that affect rural primary school students’ loneliness.Understanding the level of parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship among rural primary school students is helpful to master their loneliness,and it can alleviate the loneliness of rural primary school students to some extent by improving parent-child communication and teacher-student relationship.The results of the current study provide theoretical basis and reference for improving the mental health of rural primary school students.
