Current Research Relations Vocational Teacher Burnout And Teaching Efficacy

This study makes a survey to217teachers from4Secondary Vocational Schools by filling in the "Job burnout Inventory for Primary and Secondary School teachers" edited by Wang Fang and Xu Yan and "Sense of teaching efficacy Questionnaire" revised by Yu Guoliang etc. The study intends to reveal the job burnout and sense of teaching efficacy of the secondary vocational school teachers with the changes in the characteristics of gender, worked on its length, job title, total years of class work as well as teaching category, and further explore the relationship between job burnout and sense of teaching efficacy, thus provide the data support for education management and decision-making consultation.The results show that:①GGender is influential to intellectual burnout, but has no effect on other three dimensions of job burnout; Female teachers have the intellectual burnout higher than male teachers; there is no significant difference between different genders in sense of teaching efficacy.②Teachers who worked for different years have great difference in terms of the emotion exhaustion, sense of personal accomplishment and general sense of teaching efficacy; teachers who worked for21to25years have the most serious emotion exhaustion, the longer they worked, the stronger sense of achievement.③Teachers in different job titles have significant difference in the characteristics of the emotion exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment as well as personal sense of teaching efficacy; the vocational job burnout for first teacher is most serious and the score of sense of teaching efficacy is the lowest.④Class teachers who worked for different years have significant difference in emotion exhaustion, personal accomplishment and personal sense of teaching efficacy; the longer they worked as class teacher, the upward senses of intellectual burnout, personal accomplishment and sense of teaching efficacy. ⑤Teachers who taught the specialized courses are easier to have sense of job burnout than who taught the basic courses and the former have worse sense of teaching efficacy.⑥Personal sense of teaching efficacy has significant correlation with the emotion exhaustion, depersonalization, self-achievement and intellectual burnout; the general sense of teaching efficacy has great correlation with the emotion exhaustion, depersonalization and self-achievement.⑦General sense of teaching efficacy can better predict two dimensions of the emotion exhaustion and depersonalization; personal sense of teaching efficacy can predict four dimensions of the emotion exhaustion, depersonalization, self-achievement as well as intellectual burnout.Base on the data analysis, improved measures should be proposed in order to alleviate Secondary Vocational School Teachers’ job burnout and increase the Sense of teaching efficacy.
