Abstract:The new curriculum reform has brought an impact on middle school physics class. It renders teaching methods to develop constantly. Physics is often taught through situation creation by using different materials. This method enables students to solve problems and inspires them to learn. However, the materials-to-student’s image process needs transition. It requires teachers to extract and strengthen the major elements, then process them by logical abstracting, generalizing, and inducing. This thinking procedure is known as physical modeling. To some extent, the history of physics can be defined as the flow of new models substituting the oldTo combine physical modeling with classroom teaching fits the idea of new curriculum reform. Based on the introduction of physical modeling research from home and abroad, this paper classifies its teaching into situational modeling, history-based modeling, image modeling and experimental modeling, according to the characteristics of different teaching contents and the ways knowledge is arranged on teaching materials. This paper also states the definition, ranges and procedure of these four classroom modeling. It takes class teaching design to illustrate how physical modeling is used in instructionNCEE (National College Entrance Exam) is a way to select talents. As so far it has attracted most attention and participants, the exam has a reason to exist. But in surveys and interviews of teachers who have seen or studied the new test papers after new curriculum reform in other parts of our country, some of them hold that there is a gap between the entrance exam and the reform. NCEE cannot test the students’abilities which are cultivated under the new curriculum. Therefore, this paper uses physical modeling instruction as the starting point, and discusses its correlation with NCEE by explaining several representative exam questions of recent years. Furthermore, through analyzing the proportion and distribution of questions in four types of modeling on these three years’ exams (national, Shanghai and Jiangsu), the paper proposes combination of NCEE and the new curriculum against the reform background. It aims to encourage teachers to apply new teaching methods that accords with the new curriculum, and train students to solve practical problems. Under such reform, the old exercise-stuffed and exam-oriented education should be abandoned. Teachers are inspired to invent new teaching methods which benefit from the baton-functioned NCEE.
