In2011, the listening test of College Entrance Examination was reformed inGuangdong. The Listening Test was changed into Computer-Based Listening andSpeaking Test. The students must understand the material as well as speak out. Thereform indicates that College Entrance Examination has transformed fromemphasizing input (listening) to emphasizing both input (listening) and output(speaking). It makes English teaching more difficult so it is a challenge to bothteachers and students. The reform forces us to change the teaching models andmethods and keep the dynamic balance between understanding and expression orinput and output. In order to improve students’ ability of using language, it isnecessary for us to find an effective teaching model of senior high school. The author proposed her teaching implications on English listening and speakingteaching, the main points rest upon Krashen’s Input Theory, Swain’s Output Theory,Long’s Interaction Theory and the relative theories of second language acquisition. The author advises that the Interactive Teaching Model should be used in SeniorEnglish Listening and Speaking class teaching by analyzing the relationship amongInput, Output and Interaction with an aim that the students can have a goodcommand of the language efficiently and quickly. The model can give the studentsmore opportunities to use language and make the students become the key roles ofEnglish learning. As a result, the students’ input and output can be developed inbalance, which benefits the students’ abilities of listening and speaking, promotingthe study and development of language. At first, the thesis illustrates the background and purpose of the present study. Then this thesis makes a detailed study on Krashen’s Input Hypothesis, Swain’sOutput Hypothesis and Long’s Hypothesis after carefully analyzing the presentEnglish listening and speaking teaching. It is proved that Interaction-orientedteaching model is an effective way of solving the problems existing in the currentEnglish listening and speaking teaching in high school. An experiment is conducted to verify this hypothesis. The participants are100senior3students from No.5MiddleSchool at Shaoguan. The study mainly adopts three research methods, includingquestionnaire survey, interview and experiment. The experiment data show that thestudents in the experimental group get higher scores than those in the control group, which proves that Interaction-oriented teaching model can enhance learners’ linguisticinput and output, promoting their listening and speaking competence. It is hoped thatthe study can offer some beneficial references for the advancement of listening andspeaking teaching in high school.
