Beginning in2002, Zhejiang officially adopted unified national curriculum standards for junior middle school science curriculum, using national textbooks, with the standards of the National Curriculum. At the same time, to enhance the effect of curriculum reform, improving teachers’ teaching ability level, carrying out the new curriculum reform in Zhejiang province under the environment of teachers’continuing education training projects. As more attention in the new curriculum reform of junior middle school science teachers in training in recent years, in such aspects as training methods, content, schedule whether with the requirements of the teacher is appropriate, and how the training effectiveness, where these problems is to carry out the purpose of this study.This research takes junior high school science teachers who participate summer training in Zhejiang Normal University as an example. On the basis of the literature research, questionnaire-based, supplemented by individual interviews, the research investigates Zhejiang junior high school science teacher teaching professional competency and training needs. This research can be divided into four parts:the first part is the introduction, which mainly elaborated this article research background, combed the related literature material, introduces the research ideas and content, and illustrates the related concepts and theoretical basis, and so on; This second part is the empirical analysis on science teachers’ in-service training needs, which analyzes the basic situation of Zhejiang junior high school science teachers, teaching professional competency, the demands of training content and training method according to survey data and interviews; the third part is the conclusion, which finds the conclusion of the situation of science teachers teaching professional competence at this stage and its demands of training content and training method based on the analysis of teaching professional competency and training needs; the forth part This part is the countermeasures and suggestions, which provides effective suggestions to the situation of Zhejiang junior high school science teacher training needs currently.The survey results show that teachers in teaching professional ability the dimension scores lowest in self development ability, different from Yang lei’s results in2007, the teachers is weakest on the subject knowledge ability. It is true that the existence of the survey, the survey area, and factors such as differences in findings contrast with this study can be found, after years of training and learning and teaching practice, science teachers in subject knowledge capacity has been significantly improved. On training needs, teachers’ demand for teaching ability is the strongest, followed by the self development ability. This shows that teachers need for hands-on training content. In addition, teachers think that teaching view is a more effective way of training. At the same time, different age, teaching age, academic background and different position of teachers on training needs exist certain differences. And, of course, because the research level and the limitation of time, energy, etc, this research still has some shortcomings.
