Primary school period is the time for physical growth. However, with the changes ofseasons and increasing homework, pupils can easily fall victim to common diseases. Ournation has paid much attention to their physical development. Nonetheless, there are stilldisease occurrences or even outbursts. This research takes the pupils from Baoding S primaryschool as respondents, aiming at investigating their physical conditions and the occurrencesof common diseases as well as analyzing the reasons. On the basis of these findings, theauthor proposes some management strategies for schools as references.At present, the common diseases among pupils mainly include myopia, decayed teeth,spinal abnormity, obesity, malnutrition, tracoma and influenza whose occurrence rate is thehighest among communicable diseases. As for non-communicable diseases, the occurrence ofdecayed teeth is more than others.Based on the questionnaires and results of interviews, the author tries to find the answersby analyzing factors related to individuals, families, schools and society. The individualfactors include the subject’s physique, genetic factor, psychological factor and the ways oflife. The family factors include the medical knowledge of the family members and theirfinancial situations. The school factors include the ties between family and school, theirhomework and courses. The social factors include sports activities, health center incommunity and the social atmosphere of health education.In the end, the author proposes many management strategies for schools, namely addinghealth care center in schools, focusing on institutional improvement, enhancing curriculummanagement and realizing the interaction between home and school, between school andcommunity so as to establish a whole network where family members, schools and societyhave their roles to play.
