The cultivating model of higher education postgraduates which is a major topic with theoretical exploring and practice study value has been paying more attention and widespread study by education circles in recent years. Higher education has made considerable progress and development since official enrollment in1981and the expansion policy in1999.However, anything in development can’t go smoothly, the cultivating of postgraduates majoring in higher education faces the same problem: personnel training in academic model, a single training objectives, different accepting by employment units, the narrow channels of employment, the strong substitutability of talent.In this paper, cultivating model is divided into four aspects which are training objectives, curriculum, training methods and training quality. It takes the Research Institute of Education and Science in H University for case analysis. The comprehensive analysis to the H University’s training model of higher education postgraduates is based on the horizontal and longitudinal analysis. The paper aims to find out the valuable reference strategy and present the problems in the development of higher education. At last, it will put forward some comments and suggestions. Longitudinal analysis analyses the cultivating model of higher education postgraduates in different periods in H University. Horizontal analysis takes cultivating model into four aspects. The horizontal analysis is mainly.Through a comprehensive analysis of the four aspects, the author find out the problems in H University’s cultivating model of higher education postgraduates:Training scheme is put forward to pay attention to the difference between academic type and applied type postgraduates training, but it isn’t reflected in curriculum, training methods, training target; as there is no provisions the professional knowledge and ability quality requirements for academic type and applied type postgraduates, it is little difference between postgraduates on basic academic level and practical ability. At the same time, the author found the characteristics and advantage in the cultivation of H University’s higher education postgraduates:put forward the academic type and applied type postgraduates in training objectives; set up a high level of internationalization course; encourage teachers’ academic lectures and joint open course; encourage students to actively participate in education conference and academic report.On this basis, the author puts forward reform proposals, that is constructing two layers multi-directional interactive collaborative cultivating model. Higher Education postgraduates are divided into academic type and application type, formulate different training scheme in different directions. The hierarchical refinement of training objectives to meet the diverse needs of society, develop a flexible educational system standard; Establishing a comprehensive and flexible curriculum, taking the historic and frontier into account, using a teaching method combined autonomous with guidance and diverse curriculum evaluation methods;using an interactive cooperative training method to cultivate diversified talents, implementing joint training by many tutors, establishing the academic committee; establishing a scientific and rational quality assessment standards to meet the talents’needs in different directions, Implementing the mid-term appraisal in different ways, attaching great importance to the writing of the graduation thesis, rewarding by grades. The paper has put much emphasis on analysis of the advantages and characteristics of higher education. The aim is to provide direction guidance for the reform and development of China’s cultivating model of higher education graduates.
