Migrant Integration,or Local Integration

The analysis emphasizes the need to examine the factors in migrant workers’condition in social integration. According to their features, there are two types of social integration:migrant integration and local integration. Migrant integration is the internal integration based on relations in hometown,while local integration is the external integration based on local relation in the host city. They contains four dimensions-identity,culture,social network and economy.In making our case,migrant workers do not integrate into the host city very well both on migrant integration and local integration. However, they are mutually not only exclusive but also reinforcing. Human capital,family environment and work condition affect their social integration. First of all, human capital has positive effects on economic dimension. Secondly,family migration favors the development of migrant workers’social integration.Finally,occupational status has impact on social integration.Consequently, the duality is illustrated in migrant workers’social integration. Moreover, family migration is an effective strategy to advance migrant workers’ social integration with the host city.
