With the popularity of the Internet, the desire of being involved in the information disseminatinggets stronger and stronger. People hope that the virtual network could be connected with the realsociety. Nowadays, a batch of onymous SNS, taking the “renren.com” for example, is booming,which becomes the trends of Internet age. The real world’s social relationships are moved into theInternet. Therefore, the social interactions through network gradually become the most popular way oflife. A large number of users take the social network as a kind of tool to develop their interpersonalrelationship.This paper takes Chinese SNS site “renren” with the rapid development as an example, trying tostudy the SNS user’s interpersonal communication process. At present,“renren” is China’s largest andmost influential social website. The main participators groups of “renren” are college students, and ittakes system of real-name as the foundation to reduce real relationships, setting up a huge socialnetworks. Users aim to find acquainted friends, make new friends in the social network. SNS letpeople’s activity space expand from the specific geographical space to the virtual network space,helping people maintain and expand contacts, and promote the individual social capital. In the virtualworld of the relationship will feedback and affect the reality of interpersonal relationship. So farinterpersonal interactions have completed "reality-virtuality-reality" cycle in the SNS. The daily lifeis filled with the “virtual reality” built by SNS; it is hard to distinguish them exactly. Even nowadays,based on two different mode of transmission, there are many differences between reality and virtuality.Reality and virtuality often conflict, users get confused. It should be certain that the reality is root,virtual communication is the new stage, both are mutually promoted, getting unification on the basisof people’s interpersonal communication process.
