A Research On Current Situation And Demands Of Colleges And Universities’ Young Teachers Professional Development In Baoding

With the enrollment expansion of higher education, the universities and colleges’students/teacher ratio has been increasing. Various universities and colleges in order to solvethis problem, recruit a large number of teachers. The proportion of the young teachers in thewhole group of teachers is growing. The quality of higher education depends on the quality ofcollege teachers. Young teachers’ professional development in a certain sense determines thedevelopment of colleges and universities in the future. So, the problem of young teachers’professional development is particularly important.This article first selects four different types of colleges and universities’ young teachers inBaoding as the research object, then reviews the related theory about the specialization ofteachers and university teachers’ professional development, and establishes the researchframework of this paper. The article explores the professional status and requirement of younguniversity teachers in Baoding through questionnaires and individual interview, and analyzedthe situation of different levels in colleges and universities.This study draws the following conclusions through the analysis: as for the youngteachers themselves, Baoding colleges and universities young teacher professionaldevelopment is a lack of advanced cognitive, especially the young teachers in highervocational college; the young teachers’ efforts are not enough. As for the colleges anduniversities, Baoding universities young teachers’ professional development lack of goodexternal conditions; the related system of young teachers’ professional development isdefective. At last of the paper proposed the corresponding countermeasures and suggestionsfrom universities and young teachers themselves. And then put forward some differentoptimization strategies, according to the characteristics of the universities in different levels.This provides the related reference to Baoding colleges and universities to promote theiryoung teachers professional development. It has a certain practical significance.
