| English writing is one of the most difficult parts in English learning, which is along-term process of cognition, and needs learners’ long-term accumulation and effort. Thereare some differences in English teaching and learning between vocational students and seniorhigh school students. The vocational students have an occupation orientation, so they shouldpay more attention to practical and communication skills in learning English. As Englishwriting is one of communicational means, English teachers in secondary vocational schoolsshould improve the teaching methods of English Writing. In this research, the author use blogto support the teaching of English Writing by using the idea of phrasal chunks in vocationalschools. In English teaching the author will use phrasal chunks–grammatical vocabulary,instead of traditionally separate vocabulary and grammar, and will extend English Writingteaching to the web blog instead of limiting in classroom traditionally. Phrasal chunksteaching can help students learn more native and more accurate English expressions, and canenhance their self-confidence and interest in learning English. Writing on blog can arouse thecuriosity and sense of being masters among students. Through blog’s functions of leavingmessage and comments, students can achieve the purpose of collaborative learning bycommunicating and discussing with each other. The network provides abundant informationand resources for students. Students can achieve the purpose of autonomous learning bycollecting and choosing data, looking up words in on-line dictionary and acquiring their usage.Through method of literature research, the author analyzes and studies the existed relatedpaper of home and abroad, and has a further understanding of the advantages andcharacteristics of the English writing teaching by using phrasal chunks and blog, whichprovides a theory foundation for the research. Through questionnaire research and interviewinvestigation, the author analyzes the feasibility of the research. Through practice, the authordesigns teaching activities, and then analyzes students’ works in English writing, and reflectsfinally. After the research and exploration, the author has formed a set of teaching process forEnglish writing teaching by using the phrasal chunks and blog, which has obvious effect, and strong operability. |
