In recent years, our country’s volunteer service began to develop.youth groups undoubtedlyoccupy a large proportion in the population of volunteer services. However, our study for the youngvolunteer services most focus on the university volunteer,little research on groups of youngprofessional people to participate in volunteer service. With rich social and life experience and moresocial resources, urban white-collar workers play an important role in volunteer services for themanagement and development of China’s volunteer service. At the same time as the backbone ofsociety, urban white-collar workers to participate in volunteer service to help to promote theconstruction and development of civil society in China.This study used phenomenological research methods in the qualitative research,to study thephenomenon of urban white-collar workers to participate in volunteer service, through in-depthinterviews to understand the experiences and feelings of urban white-collar workers to participate inthe process of voluntary service and to understand their awareness and understanding of volunteerservice, then showing the process of urban white-collar workers to participate in voluntary service andthe interpretation of the voluntary service from a witness point.Urban white-collar workers said only in the state of "idle rich" and "to live good", they willparticipate in volunteer service, which will be accepted by the public and meet China’s ethical ethics.To participate in volunteer service motivation, some said he was "clean", no motive; others out ofaltruistic motives; also there are mixed motives. Urban white-collar workers enter the field ofvoluntary service through a variety of ways such as community, network, or acquaintance.Involunteering, urban white-collar workers can understand the situation of the service object, and toprovide services in accordance with their needs, which has also been positive feedback. With in-depthunderstanding of the public institutions, urban white-collar workers feel "warm" and "cold" of thepublic institutions, they will choose to continue or exit according to their expectations. The harvest ismuch larger than pay, the volunteer service allows urban white-collar workers to be able to correctlyunderstand themselves, and even affect their outlook on life and values.Volunteering is not all belong to the pure altruism, urban white-collar workers in the process ofvoluntary service there will be a lot of harvest, volunteer service also had a positive impact on theurban white-collar workers. Only meet the needs of low-level, people will pursue the demand forhigh-level, professional youth only will want to participate in volunteer service to meet theirphysiological and safety needs. We can understand the hardships and difficulty faced by urbanwhite-collar workers to participate in volunteer service. Urban white-collar workers selective publicinstitutions from the perspective theory of expectancy and group dynamics, they will choose thepublic institutions in line with expectations and good team atmosphere.In this team, they will berespected, to be supported,able to feel the warmth of the team, to motivate them to actively join thevolunteer service. Urban white-collar workers think that volunteering is a "love of " ordinary life, it needs the joyof urban white-collar workers, voluntary responsible for any repayment and lasting help others orcontributing to society, and volunteer service to give urban white-collar workers a strong support ofinner values and spiritual beliefs.
