The Study Of Loneliness Of Chinese Young Urban White-collar Workers In The Contemporary Society

Loneliness is a common emotional state, in contemporary society, more and more people feel lonely. Public emotions can not be simply attributed to personal problems, while the general feeling was spawned by social process. Therefore, it is very meaningful to study loneliness in the context of sociology.However, the current academic research on loneliness are mainly concentrated in the fields of philosophy and psychology. Although each of these areas have different emphases, there are little research in the field of sociology.As a group which contact closely with the whole society,white-collar workers, will feel loneliness at the first time,.Studying the loneliness of urban white-collar is very helpful to present the operating mechanism for the whole society.In this thesis, I adopt both study methods of in-depth interview and literature study. In order to obtain first-hand information,I adopt deep interview in analyzing the state of life and the inner world of urban white-collar workers. However,I will adopt the literature method to analyze social structural factors that lead to the universality of loneliness.From the state of life of the white-collar and inner psychological state,I will analyze the cause of the white-collar loneliness. Loneliness is closely related to the state of life,such as work, leisure and international relationship and so on; Lack of the sense of belonging and identity is the root of the loneliness of white-collar workers.In the point of the history and society, I will explore the causes of loneliness. The following four factors are the causes of the contemporary social loneliness generalized:collapse of the ultimate reality, the rise of the city and the city relationships, the emergence of technology prosperous and technical personality, the change of feeling rules.The crisis of identity is the deep cause of loneliness.
