Abstract/Summary:
The environmental problems which we are facing today, is not only atechnical problems, an institutional problem, but also a moral problem.Environmental morality education is just an education countermeasures that mankindtaken to solve the environmental problem through moral dimension, which tries tochange people’s value orientation towards nature, coordinator the relationship ofmankind and nature, and reestablish the new order between human and nature. It isan important educational guarantee for human society to going out of the ecologicalcrisis dilemma, entering ecological civilization and achieving the sustainabledevelopment. College students are the potential forces for the nation’s construction,so the cultivating of their environmental moral quality has a significant influence tothe society’s environmental protection and ecological civilization construction;therefor, environmental morality education of college students is an important part ofnation’s environmental morality education system. Thus, it’s the historical missionthat higher education should bear in the21st century, and it’s also a new topic thatcontemporary college morality education must discuss.According to the literature material, our country’s environmental moralityeducation of college students has been developed merely over a decade, it’s still inthe stage of exploration, so there are still many gaps and blanks in theoreticalresearch that need to be continual explored and filled; and at present, our country’senvironmental morality education of college students develop relatively stagnant ingeneral, there still exist many problems in practice, so the relevant countermeasuresfor its promotion is needed, but this kind of study is hardly to be fund. Therefore, thisthesis prepares to do a systemic research on the problems which concerningenvironmental morality education of college students from both theory and practicelevels, expecting to make a further improvement for its theories, and putting forwardeffective suggestions for promoting its implementation.This thesis firstly expounds the modern environmental morality educationtheories as basis. And base on that, it discusses several theoretical problems whichrelated to the environmental morality education of college students, such as itsconnotation, goal, principle and content. Then it explores the present implementation of environmental morality education in our colleges from both macro andmicroscopic view: macroscopically, it analyses the general situation of collegestudents’ environmental moral quality and colleges’ implementation; microscopically,it selects and analysis five implementation cases which related to five greenuniversities, Tsinghua university, and Harbin industrial university, Tianjinpolytechnic university, Peking university, Zhejiang agriculture and forestry university,and then sums up the achievements and weak links. Finally, it puts forward effectivecountermeasures based on these weak links.This thesis suggests that the environmental moral education of college studentsshould be promoted in two sides: the cognition on its theories must be improved, andthe effective countermeasures must be adopted. The paper argues that thecountermeasures including five categories: the first is to perfect the idea andconsciousness by changing the view on value and the education, clearing about itsstrategic position, and paying attention to its core idea; the second is to perfect themanagement mechanism by constructing environmental moral education operationsystem, establishing campus’ environment quality management system, andestablishing environmental behavior rewards and punishment incentive system; thethird is to optimize its education system by tamping the course, strengthening thepractice education, and strengthening the propaganda; the fourth is to develop newteaching methods by using value analysis method, the project-based learning method,and the outdoor teaching method; the fifth is to enriching the approach ofenvironmental morality education by strengthening the communication towardsociety, speeding up the integration of campus, promoting community linkage, anddeveloping the dormitory culture.
