The Influence Of Spiritual Leadership On Behavior And Attitude Of High School Teachers

The spiritual leadership generally delivers motivation and influences to employees in the spirit level, a nd makes workers aware of organizational and their own inspiration from common goals which are accepta ble and understanding for each of them. In other words, these leaders emphasis on the spirit situation of em ployees, and offer them selfless care and protection at the same time. Meanwhile, the staffs hold up confide nce with the given goal, and are full of hope for the future. In that situation, these employees could possess the feeling of fullness of life, and realize meaning of life, which further maximizes both the individual and t he organizational goal.This research explores and studies the spiritual leadership by integrating the methods of literature surv eys, interviews and questionnaires.Samples are deliberately chosen from front-line teachers of high schools of twelve Henan province. Using the methods of exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and regression analysis, seve ral conclusions have been drawn as following:Firstly,the Chinese spiritual leadership basically comprises three dimensions:altruistic love, common goals, and faith as well as the sense of mission. The reliability and validity of the spiritual leadership questi onnaire can meet the standard psychometric requirements.Secondly,the spiritual leadership significantly affects the employees’ innovative behavior and emotion al commitment, and influences are not quite same on each variable. Specifically, altruistic love positively in fluences the emotional commitment, while common goals, faith and the sense of mission have a positive im pact on emotional commitment and the employees’ innovative behavior.Thirdly,these teachers, who have different ages, education level and the year of work, perform extreme ly different on the three dimensions of the spiritual leadership.Finally, some drawbacks of the research have been summarized, and the prospects of the spiritual lead ership have also been explored.
