In the21stcentury,with the intensification of the economic and Sports’ globalization, China’s sportscareer has been developing rapidly, and gradually embarked on the international stage. With puttingforward and carrying out the “National Fitness Program” and “Olympic Glorious Program”, our countrydemands for more high-level personnel of sports and the demands is increasing rapidly. All of these factorsput forward with higher request for the training of high-level personnel. Since1999, the scale of graduateeducation presents the trend of widening sharply, the rapidly increasing number will affect the quality ofpostgraduates’ cultivation at the same time. According to this, many scholars have devoted to the study ofgraduate education, but there are still many deficiencies in the postgraduates’ training process. Settingcourses repetitively, selecting obsolete textbooks and teaching schedule unreasonable and a series ofproblems have alarmed our graduates’ education, and have made a huge challenge to it. Put the graduates’curriculum work in an important position, further understanding of the curriculum is an important basis forpostgraduates’ training has become the call of The Times.Using the literature, expert interview, comparative analysis, case study and mathematical statisticsmethods make a thorough comparison and analysis of the PE postgraduates’ majors and courses of theUnited States and Britain.Research results:1)For profession Settings, China, The United States and Britain, three countries emphasize the needsof society and market. China’s major setting is the most specific, focusing on the balanced development ofthe various professions and setting majors with our national characteristics; The United States and Britainsetting majors independently due to their national system, there is a big difference and flexibility betweenthe regional schools; The United States focus on professional open of sports management, The UnitedStates and Britain have set up corresponding majors to special groups.2)For the course structure, the course structure of PE Postgraduates in Chinese universities is uniformand more refining; The United States and Britain’s curriculum is different among universities.3)For the course credits setting, three countries three majors present a phenomenon of a bigger proportion of the compulsory course and a smaller proportion of elective course, the proportion ofcompulsory credits (on average) is similar, China’s elective credits proportion is bigger; larger proportionof China’s public courses, to some extent, affect the setting of other courses. American and British paysmuch attention to the training of students’ practical ability, its practice and academic report and their creditsproportion is obviously higher than that of our country, the thesis or research projects have higher creditrequirements.4)For the course content, the curriculum and specialty contact closely in three countries, they allemphasize tools and methods courses, teaching in the form of the United States and Britain is more diverse,they pay more attention to students’ teaching practice and thesis writing, focus on combining theory withpractice.5)For the Physical Education and Training, the graduate curriculum in the United States and Britainare very active, compulsory and optional courses are flexible, their compulsory and optional courses haverather strong theory and application, and they have not set skill courses, electives are more refined, theyhave specialized courses for special populations; curriculum of some schools in the United States are setaccording to the season.6)For the Sports Sociology and Humanities, our courses emphasis on macro and administrativemanagement and are chiefly made up of theory courses; American and British is focus on market andbusiness areas, the course setting is applied and practical; Tool courses are more setting in elective areas inChina, but in core and required courses in American and British, they have fewer elective courses;American universities pay attention to the cultivation of students’ legal consciousness.7)For the Human Movement Science, China’s curriculum has strong professional theory; Americancurriculum is very flexible and fine, curriculum standards are the needs of society; The compulsory coursesare fewer but better in America and Britain, standing in the forefront of scientific and paying attention tothe development of scientific research, the emphasis of the course is outstanding, their curriculum hasstrong professionalism and forward-looking.Suggestions:1)Retain China’s characteristics of professional setting mode, learn from the UnitedStates Professional setting mode, increase the special groups’ profession;2)Reduce the proportion of publiccompulsory courses appropriately, the curriculum should be fewer but better and be theoretical and practical;3)Teaching forms should be diversified, increasing the elective course of interdisciplinary setting;4)Increase the attention to special groups, and pay attention to the cultivation of students’ legalconsciousness, clear positioning tool course;5)In combination with the specific research direction to setcurriculum, the content of the course should highlight social adaptability and application.
