According to the previous researches at home and abroad, this paper had done the following two researches through the way of literature analysis, questionnaire survey, and related analytic and structural equation model. The first part was the scale revision of academic help-seeking. The data of this part was collected from160returnees from senior high school graduates in three middle schools in Gansu province. We had got an academic help-seeking scale with three factors and twelve programs after item and exploratory factor analysis, etc. The evaluation of internal consistency of the scale was0.874. Upon testing, the revised scale of help-seeking conformed to the theoretical construction of this research with high reliability and validity. The participants of the second study were545senior middle school students from three middle schools of Gansu, which studied their relationship of academic self-concept, locus of control and academic help-seeking of returnees from senior high school graduates by means of inventory survey, relation analysis, regression analysis and structural equation model. Firstly, based on the theoretical review of the related researches of the three above variables, it had analyzed the characteristics of them as well as their relationship; secondly, it had made an analysis of the differences between the fresh graduates and the returnees from senior high school graduates with respect to the above three aspects; in the end, it studied the mediating effect of the academic self-concept. The results of the study were as following:(1) The locus of control of returnees from senior high school graduates were tended to be internal control in the mass, and there is significant difference in gender, subjects, reviewing willingness and the expected university. The academic self-concept was higher than average, value of academic achievement, self-control of academic behavior and experience of academic emotion differed greatly in gender, subject, reviewing willingness and the expected university. Instrumental help-seeking in academic help-seeking differed greatly in gender, subject, reviewing willingness and the expected universities. About executive and avoidance of help-seeking, male students score higher than female ones and students majored in science score higher than in arts; the unwilling ones score higher than the willing ones; the one who registered for the third degree colleges scores higher than the second rank, and the second rank higher than the first class. (2) Returnees from senior high school graduates tended to have high internal control than the fresh graduate. In comparison, returnees from senior high school graduates’academic self-concept and instrumental help-seeking were significantly higher than the fresh graduates, but the executive help-seeking of fresh graduates were significantly higher than returnees from senior high school graduates, but there was not significantly difference on avoidance of help-seeking.(3) Significantly negative correlation existed among self-control of academic behavior, value of academic achievement and experience of academic emotion in the locus of control and academic self-concept of returnees from senior high school graduates. Locus of control provided significantly negative predictions to self-control of academic behavior, value of academic achievement and experience of academic emotion. There existed a positive correlation between self-control of academic behavior, value of academic achievement and experience of academic emotion of academic self-concept with instrumental help-seeking, and there existed a negative correlation with executive and avoidance of help-seeking. Besides, self-control of academic behavior, value of academic achievement and experience of academic emotion provided significantly positive predictions to instrumental help-seeking while provided obvious negative prediction to executive and avoidance help-seeking. There existed a significantly negative correlation between Locus of control and instrumental help-seeking, and a significantly positive correlation with executive and avoidance of help-seeking; in addition, it provided significantly negative predictions to instrumental help-seeking while provided obvious positive predictions to executive and avoidance help-seeking. By more testing, the academic self-concept of returnees from senior high school graduates had the absolute mediating between their locus of control and academic help-seeking.
