Self-efficacy is a subjective prediction of an individual's ability to work in this area before completing certain aspects of work.The predicted results will directly affect the individual's motivation and efficiency in completing this work.For high school students,their sense of self-efficacy will directly affect their learning and life.Social comparison is an effective way for high school students to know themselves and understand themselves.Individuals reflect the differences in social comparative tendency due to different needs.Moreover,social comparative tendency influence self-efficacy as an alternative experience.In many studies,it has also been verified that there is a significant positive correlation between social comparative tendency and self-efficacy.The locus of control of high school students directly affects the level of their learning efforts and their perception and views on things.Many studies have confirmed that external control has a significant negative correlation with self-efficacy and social comparative tendencies.The current study has not yet involved the study of the relationship between social comparative tendencies,locus of control and self-efficacy.In this study,420 Ningxia high school students were investigated by means of INCOM,GSEs and Internal-External Locus of Control Scale to investigate the relationship between social comparative tendency,control source and self-efficacy.In addition,this study selected high school students from three different schools(poverty alleviation high schools in provincial capital cities,ordinary high schools in cities,and high schools in southern mountainous and rural areas)to understand if there are significant regional differences and other demographic differences between the three.The results showed that:(1)There were significant gender differences in self-efficacy.High school students 'sense of self-efficacy has a very significant regional difference.(2)There are significant differences in grade levels in social comparative tendency.There are significant regional differences in social comparative tendency.(3)There are significant regional differences in the locus of control.(4)There is a significant positive correlation between social comparative tendencies,abilities,ideas,and sense of self-efficacy.External control has significant negative correlation with social tendency,ability,concept and self-efficacy.(5)The locus of control plays a part in the influence of the ability society on the sense of self-efficacy,and it can not afford to mediate the effect in the view society's comparative tendency and self-efficacy.
