Technological innovation and scientific development is inseparable fromthe most basic soil-scientific literacy. Formal science education is still themost basic way and the most important means to increase public scientificliteracy. Scientific literacy is the cornerstone of the development of scienceand technology, so the cultivation of College Students’ scientific literacy ismost essential. The development of scientific literacy lies in a grasp ofscientific knowledge and understanding, the exercise of the practice ofscience, scientific way of mind training and the influence of the scientificspirit. Those are all closely related with teaching and assessmentmanagement of higher education, in which examination system plays adecisive role. This thesis is an empirical study through questionnaires tounderstand the contemporary college students in science literacy, the stateof knowledge of the teaching evaluation, reflecting college students’learning attitude and problems, analysis of the correlation between theexisting assessment methods and the nurture of students’ scientific literacy.According to the " college students’ learning attitude survey " Students’scientific literacy and culture conditions survey table " and " collegestudents’ learning and examinations questionnaire ", in accordance with thesimple random sampling method in surveys of Anhui University, AnhuiAgricultural University, Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine,University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei University ofTechology and Anhui Medical University, covering the types of students inscience and medicine,1565questionnaires were distributed and1353werevalid to collect. This ensured the sample size and with good reliabilityvalidity. The questionnaires mainly surveyed university students’ attitude towards learning, method of learning, effects of learning and scientificliteracy status, trying to figure out the impact of the current assessment oncollege students’ scientific literacy training, analyze problems andpropose countermeasures.The surveys reflected the students’ awareness of science, the scientificmethod, scientific knowledge, scientific spirit, science and social basicunderstanding, embodied the basic conditions for scientific literacy in thecontemporary college students, and analyzed science literacy differencesbetween urban and rural areas, men and women. After summarizingsurveys, we can come to the main conclusion: the lack of awareness of thescientific spirit and the weakness of scientific and practical activities instudents, the science curriculum education snubbed by students, manydrawbacks in assessment methods. The related suggestions are put forwardto reform the examination system, take the multiplex inspection tostrengthen the practice of science education activities, strengthen scienceand general education, improve science and humanities of college studentsand develop a sense of innovation and the spirit of science talent in order topromote the healthy development of China’s science and technology.
