One of the hot topic concerned by some researchers is how to properly resolve aging problemand improve the quality of life of older people when our society challenged by a severe aging trend. However, the previousaging researches put more attention on on the institutional aspect of old-age security, pension and social support from macroscopic point of view, and also put more attention on discussing characteristics of the old people as a specific group needsspecial care and treatments;meanwhile less literatures examine the microscopic living conditions of old peopleas an individual and even less consider about their inner world and normal behaviors.Aging in our country appear more prominent, therefore, the writer believed that "living a life in retirement"is not a passive and static status for the elderly, but a continuing and active process of "living".This study was conducted on a "living a life of fortune"perspective and adopted some methods, such as participant observation, interview and literature review, to analyzeold people’s real condition of life.Based on the description of the economic, physical, mental and social aspects of the elderly under the background of "born to die", the writer intends to indicate how do they living a good life by allocating and exchanging resources and self-adjusting their mental status. In this research it is found that in the current rural areastheelderly didn’t get special health care and treatments as expected. Old people live in rural areas rely mostly on themselves which means they have to obtain most of livelihood by working at old age and moreover, work for their grown-up children sometimes. Due to the gradual loss of working capacity when they go into old age, there is a reversion of their roles both in family and society. As daughter-in-law plays a bigger role in family which leads to a status reversal, the elderly become more and more disadvantaged. Family implies dual influences of constructing and dispellingon the elderly gradually. In order to obtain more pension resources, the old people under this circumstance always,on the one hand, accumulate more capital through various working then reduce the dependence on their children; on the other hand, they also pay more attention to communicate and exchange with their children and children’s spouses in return to get old-age security from them, especially when they are incapacitated. Meanwhile, it is inevitable to fall in frustrated and depressed as a result of lower family and social status for the elderly. Usually, what they can do to achieve spiritual balance only relies on the self-adjustment on mental.
