Since the1980s, with the awakening of subjectivity and the extensive development of the subjectivity education,"participation" became the core of the class. With the new basic educational reform, to promote student’s active participation and explore became the needed task of China’s basic education. However the current instructional design still provide by the teachers, what the students can do is passively accept. This traditional instructional design model unable to match the objectives of the basic education reform. In this context, participatory visualization of instructional design is spawned. Participatory visualization of instructional design advocate the students to participate in instructional design, with the help of mind map and other visualization tolls, achieving students participate instructional design. Through the equal communication and cooperation between teachers and students to complete the instructional design.This article will examine the background, domestic and international status, definition, basis theoretical, the specific characteristics and the model construct of the participatory visualization of instructional design. Explore participatory visualization instructional design theory and the basic principles of practice. Investigation to understand the current status of our instructional design and the feasibility and application prospects of participatory visualization instructional design. Introduce the mind map as the main visualization tools in this study. Guide by the new instruction philosophy, build the model for participatory visualization instructional design.And combination of the third grade’s exploratory courses, to prove its feasibility and its promotion effect in practice. Analyze the various problems encountered in the practice. According to this analysis results of practice to make further modifications for the participatory visualization instructional design model. The same time improve the system theory. In order to promote the development of participatory visualization of instructional design in China.
