On The Chinese Mainland Since 1980 Churchill Research

The academic circle began to study Churchill since the1980s in mainland Chinese, but the foreign academic circle has set about the study after the second world war and has made some significant achievements in the1970s so that there is an obvious gap between Chinese mainland and Foreign. Compared with foreign achievements on Churchill, the beginning late, slow development, limited results are main characteristics in mainland Chinese.The text includes introduction, body, conclusion and bibliography which the body is the key point. The body focus on analyzing research results in mainland Chinese since1980s on the way that combines the longitudinal and lateral. And the body is divided into the following three chapters:The first chapter for the beginning stage of the1980s, two biographies were published on Winston Churchill’s life in mainland Chinese that focus on description of how the historical figures and events with literature and less argument. In addition, the author compares Chinese with western works to find the difference during this period. The thesis of paper focus on military, evaluation and diplomacy. Compared with the achievements of biography, the achievements of paper is more outstanding.The second chapter for the preliminary stage of development of the1990s. The biographies focus on researching the relationship between Churchill and some figures and events in the second world with obvious education significance and age characteristics. To find out the characteristics and development trend of biographies in this period,the author compares some works on the same topic in different stage. Compared with achievements of1980s, there are some monographic works focus on military, diplomacy and obtain remarkable achievements. At the same time, The depth and fields of paper have been deepened and expanded in1990s.The third chapter is the further deepening and development stage of2000-2012. The most outstanding achievements on monographic works that realize the integration of history and other subjects. Although research topic focus on diplomatic and military, the history research direction, the historical theory, history research method and historical dates are more outstanding than1990s. In addition, to find out the faults and needed improvements, the author also compares some translation works of foreign with works in mainland Chinese. Compared with the paper of the second half of the20th century, The thesis of the paper still focus on the political, military, diplomatic, character evaluation, but the depth is improved in this period.In addition, the author also puts forward some suggestions on foreign figures and expects a long-term development of academic circle in mainland Chinese.
