Pre - Ming Meridians Physicians About Treatment Of Headache Research

Nowadays, Headache is a common disease in clinic. Modern medicine has acomplicated classification for headache. Moreover, it has not cleared thegeneration mechanism yet. Therefore it has limited on treatment.Chinese medicinehas a long curative history on headache and accumulates many effective approaches,such as traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage.The effect ofChinese medicine is satisfied, for relieving the suffering of headache and itis recognized by patients.Meridian differentiation is one of the importantsyndrome differentiation, which plays a vital role in treating headache. Howevernowadays the doctors do not pay enough attention on meridian differentiation,that is why I make the issue. On the hand, I hope the doctors pay more attentionon the evolution and development of meridian differentiation on headache. Onthe other hand, it may be give some help to clinic on syndrome differentiation.In this paper, the experience of historical and recent physicians on meridiandifferentiation treatment on headache by the literature concluding and collatingmethods.We devided the development into three periods in this paper. The firstperiod, from the Pre-Qin to the Qin and Han Dynasties. It is a period of initialformation of meridian differentiation treatment on headache. Internal Canon ofYellow Emperor offered the theoretical basis for the future treatment. Treatiseon Febrile Diseases,written by Zhang Zhongjing, six meridian syndromedifferentiation on headache and the law of theory, therapy, recipe, anddrugs,which Provide a model for future clinical. Wei-Jin to Jin-Yuan Dynasties,the second period, is the peak of the development of meridian differentiationtreatment on headache. Especially, Four Famous Doctors in Jin and Yuan Dynastiesmade great progress for meridian differentiation on headache. The colateraldisease theory to cure headache is the main characteristics in the Ming and QingDynasties, the third period. I n addition, the theory of Eight Extra Meridianswas proposed. In this paper, meridian differentiation is divided into the diagnosis ofa meridian; collaterals differentiation; six meridian syndrome differentiation;Eight Extra Meridians differentiation and so on. And all these meridiandifferentiations were discussed in Etiology、Pathogenesis、Location of disease、syndrome differentiation and treatment and so on. Finally, the part of headachecure in Internal Canon of Yellow Emperor and four important acupuncture worksare collated and analyzed in this paper. We found that the theory in InternalCanon of Yellow Emperor provide theoretical basis for future generationstreating headaches. Meanwhile we Summarize up the meridians and acupoints tobase on the theory of meridian differentiation of acupuncture treatment onheadache.
