At the request of the social development now, each domain requires highspeed, high efficiency, high automation, continuous production, etc. In themodern long-distance bulk material handing industry, the belt conveyor is itsideal equipment to achieve the above goals. Along with the new development ofthe national product in the modern bulk material handing industry and nationalnew understanding of safety in production, and put forward new requirementsfor belt conveyor: high speed, high efficiency, long distance, diversity,intelligent, large capacity and low accident rate, etc. So, the designers face moreand more dynamic problems, the traditional design method has nearly can,t meetnow the new situation of large belt conveyor design requirements. Developmentof modern science and technology bring some new design method with the field,the CAD/CAE technology and finite element analysis method are more andmore widely applied in the field of the designer and production of belt conveyor.Make the designers are greatly reduces the design cycle, improve the quality andsecurity of the product, at the same time the cost of the design and productionare greatly reduced because of the rationality of the design.Drive is power source of the belt conveyor, and its reliability and safetydirectly affects the normal work of the belt conveyor and safety production.Driving head frame is to support the driving drum, the stability of it plays aconsiderable role for entire transmission system can run normally.In this paper, the stress of the driving head frame has carried on the detailedanalysis of the large belt conveyor in different working posture, and introducescreate solid model in the virtual environment and simulation analysis in themodern analysis method(Finite Element Modeling, FEM), then create the solidmodel in the virtual environment by the of Solidworks software and FEManalysis using ANSYS Workbench software was carried out. Obtain the stressnephogram and deformation nephogram based on the research of the AnsysWorkbench analysis results. Make some problems to get a certain degree of solution in the design of the belt conveyor driving head frame. Finally, the modeanalysis was carried out on the driving head frame, has obtained certain meaningwithin the scope of the project and the potential economic benefits.
