As a kind of ideal conveyor equipment, belt conveyor is widely used in grain storage, chemical industry, port and repackaging of the logistics business enterprise etc, which greatly reduces the management cost for enterprises. Since the reform and opening, seeking the most suitable belt conveyor has become a trend for all industries, especially, the large belt conveyor. Most belt conveyors need to adopt multipoint driving or multi-pulley driving, so the reasonable allocation of the the total force and power between the pulleys becomes the focus of people’s attention.According to the single-pulley driving theory of rubbing transmission, the relationship between tensioning force, driving force and the angle is firstly established in order to get the basic equations of double drum drive. By studying the actual allocation proportion of driving force and power for the double-pulley belt conveyor, we can obtain the mathematical model of motor power imbalance degree and the dominant factors which affects the motor power. These factors include the belt elastic extension, the deviation relative magnitude of the pulley’s diameters and the mechanical characteristics of the motor. Through theoretical calculation, the OriginLab software is applied to render graphics and discusses the influence law of motor power balance about the main factors.Through calculating, the comprehensive influence of the above factors on the motor power balance, the regulating effect of using the motor with moment-limit fluid coupling in series and the accuracy of the variable frequency speed regulation are analyzed. Then the three are compared. Finally, based on VB software platform, "the motor power imbalance degree calculation analysis" software is written and the correctness of this software is verified through the examples, which make the whole calculation process faster and more accurate.
