On The Supervision Rapid Urbanization In The Elevator Safety

In recent years, with the accelerating development of urbanization, elevators have been playing an important role in people’s life, and becoming one of the main transportation in cities. So far, the number of elevator is increasing at the speed of2percent every year. On one hand, it is convenient for people’s life, on the other hand, it brings some serious social conflicts. A lot of elevator failures happen causing casualty accidents, which draws the public attention to the issue of elevator safety because people are more concerned about whether the elevator they take is safe or not.The every part involved in elevator safety is like a huge invisible net including the government, functional departments, inspection bodies, elevator manufacturers, maintaining and repairing agencies, property developers, owner of units, user of units and passengers, which leads to the connection and conflict of interest. So far, the main problems in the supervision and administration of elevator safety are, the contradiction between the increasing number of elevators and the lack of supervisors, the contradiction between the interest of property developers and the cost in the maintain of the elevators, the contradiction between the investment and benefit of the property management company, the conflict between the cost and interest of the maintaining and repairing agency, and the last, the conflict between the growing right-protection awareness and the uncivilized use of elevators. Therefore, based on the purpose to solve those problems, the first step is to come up with an elevator safety administration method which is proper for the local development.Survey research methods are used in the thesis, focusing on the problems in the supervision of the safety of elevators. The thesis is divided into these parts, the analysis of the reasons the mentioned problems, the evaluation standard of elevator safety, the method of using the evaluation standard to manage elevator safety at different levels, which has the positive influence on how to make the supervision and inspection of the government department more efficiently, and on providing the users with a safe environment.
