This paper concludes in theory the influence of Chinese classical architecture on new concept and form of innovative Soundscape design, which summarizes the great significance of concept fusion and innovation, and studies the feasibility of applying Soundscape to Chinese classical architecture. A viable plan of Soundscape whose target subject is a designated area of Heaven Temple, is presented in this paper. In order to blend sound and view into surrounding scenery, Soundscape is designed with landscape, by which, sound, a dynamical factor is integrated into statical ancient building. Thus it elevates visitors’ experience of specific place, stimulates their interest, evokes memories through sound, so as to make the sightseers pay close attention to the unique history background and cultural connotations. Consequently, it is the meaning and value of this paper that the concept of Soundscape art is introduced to Chines classical architecture landscape and integrated to practice. The article is divided into seven chapters. Chapter2mainly refers to introduction and detailed description of Soundscape concept, and overview of its designs in worldwide spread. In the third chapter, the author conducts a comparative analysis between Soundscape idea arising from Chinese culture and its western pattern. The former whose simple notion in Chinese culture is defined as sound of nature, sound of land and sound of human, corresponds to the latter whose three key elements are theme sound, signal sound and identifier sound, while retains their own stand point. Chapter4and chapter5are largely devoted to the basis of Soundscape design, which consists of subjective and objective conditions, both of whom constitute foundation and theoretical base for design. It will be shown in the sixth chapter how theory is applied into practice. The author takes an opportunity to propose a Soundscape solution which is designed with Heaven Temple’s distinguishing features. Lastly, in the conclusion part, chapter7generalizes characteristics of Soundscape and Chinese classical architecture’s integration, analysises its merits and faults, summarizes problems, and aim to provide useful experience for others.
