As treasures in Chinese architectural art, the Chinese classical garden is unique in the garden art history around the world, which embodies the art features of architecture, landscape, poetry, literature etc. This thesis introduces the Enframed Scenery and its application in Chinese classical garden on the basis of collating and analyzing the previous studies, which aims to analyze and summarize the application of Enframed Scenery in new Chinese architecture, thus in order to further explore the modernized methods and theories of Enframed Scenery applied in new Chinese architecture. As a result, this thesis is hoped to offer new ideas and methods to the development of new Chinese architecture, and provide certain theoretic reference for the diversified development of new Chinese architecture.The findings of this thesis are the following four aspects:(1).Through studying lots of references and instances, it does a thorough analysis of Enframed Scenery from the below respects: the origin, components and its functions. The frame, the scenery in the frame and the people consist of Enframed Scenery and result in the effects of imaging the Big from the Small and mutual promotion between Virtuality and Reality. According to people’s perception of the scenery, the scenery in the frame can be divided into the real scene and virtual scene; According to the relative distance of frame and scenery, the scenery in the frame can be divided into: close scenery, medium scenery and distant scenery. The way of framing scenery in the frame is scenery-borrowing, and the way of appreciating scenery can be divided into dynamic and static.(2).Through analyzing the specific instances of Chinese classical garden, this thesis categorizes the methods in interpreting the Enframed Scenery, including Enframed Scenery of door and window, frame scenery between pillars, plants, rockery caves and tunnels and so on. The different locations of frame will result in different functions and features. Only having a depth and flexible grasp of framing scenery technique, then an architect can get a better understanding and innovation in New Chinese architecture.(3)Due to the changes of environment and people’s aesthetic viewpoint, the application of Enframed Scenery in New Chinese architecture has more new requirements, such as constantly broaden its characteristics, creating new forms by using new materials and technology, which not only correspond to the modern architecture and but also not lose the traditional architecture charms. From analyzing the Enframed Scenery instances in Xiangshan Hotel, Suzhou Museum and Xiangshan Campus of China Academy of Art, this thesis interprets its applications from three aspects: Enframed Scenery and to be the scenery of itself; borrowing scenery by frame and changing scenery while move around. Taking the different viewpoints of Enframed Scenery put forward by Bei Jinming and Wang Shu into consideration, though both of them present the differences of architecture forms, they successfully inherit traditional Chinese culture.(4). From taking the real instances into analysis, this thesis summarizes the functions of Enframed Scenery that it defines and penetrates the space, transforms the space by bring scenery and enriches its layer. From analyzing the new interpretation of Enframed Scenery in the New Chinese architecture, this thesis concludes that the Enframed Scenery gets its new life from imitation, simplification, changes, exaggeration and images art techniques. The Enframed Scenery is like a window, which not only connects to the nature and architecture, but also links the past and the present.
