With the increase of car ownership, the problems of energy shortage and environment pollution become increasingly prominent. Correspondingly, each country has published the strict emissions regulations. At the same time, the requirement of engine performance is becoming higher. More and more electronic control technology is applied to the engine in order to achieve the goal of high power, low fuel consumption and low emissions. At present, the electronic control system has been studied at home and aboard. In recent years, the simulation technology on the basis of the model has been widely used in the engine electronic control systems. The engine process simulation model is established to verify the control strategy through software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulation. It has great significance and application prospects to develop the engine electronic control system.The main object is to build ignition engine process simulation model in the LabVIEW development platform. The model is established based on modular programming ideas, using graphical programming software. Specific development works are as follows.(1) The function modules of the physical model are divided and a mathematical model is established to describe the actual working process of engine. The numerical analysis method is used to solve this mathematical model. The rule of working substance parameters changed with the crank angle is obtained. The performance of the engine power and economy is calculated based on the rule.(2) Make the simulation mode come true on PC with the graphical programming language LabVIEW. Design the simulation interface to monitor the operating parameters and performance parameters. Simulate the model as the actual parameters of a gasoline engine and obtain the engine cylinder pressure and the temperature curve or other performance indicators comparing the simulation data with model parameters to verity the correctness and feasibility of the engine simulation model. Simulate engine process load characteristic curve and speed characteristic curve by adjusting the amount of oil or speed. Some important parameters which impact the engine performance are analyzed.(3) Design an engine sensor signal analog output system by using the NI PXI-6259multifunction data acquisition board on the basis of PXI platform. Observe the outputting results of engine speed signal and sensor signals by oscilloscope. One of the innovations in the research is that the interaction of software and hardware is come true in the process of establishment of the engine working process.The engine working process simulation model based on virtual instrument technology is used in the development of the electronic control system. This work can not only reduce the workload and shorten the development cycle but also reduce the development costs and greatly improve the efficiency of the development.
