The reform in America mathematics curriculum which has a long history and a distinguishing features, is one important part of the development of world curriculum. Named mathematics curriculum reform in postwar America, this dissertation accounts around the new math, back to basics, problem solving and curriculum standards and focus, which will try to reveal the evolutional rule of the history of America mathematics curriculum, and predicted the future trend of the development of mathematics curriculum in the United States. In the process of writing, the author will seize the two main clues:one is main features of each period of the mathematics curriculum reform. Knowing the characteristic of the mathematics curriculum reform in the United States, is beneficial to understanding the contents of each period of the mathematics curriculum reform. The other is the main ACT and meeting in the development of the mathematics course. The author will specifically analysis the necessity and direction of the mathematics curriculum reform by describing the important statute and conference contents. The two clues will coexist in the entire writing process.The dissertation consists of an introduction, a body and an epilogue. The body of this dissertation should include four chapters. In the first chapter, the author illustrates the history of mathematical curriculum reform in1960s. This chapter illustrates the background, process, effect and problem of the mathematics curriculum reform in this period which features as "new math". This chapter analysis the exploration of mathematics curriculum reform around the important conference on file content and mathematics courses, and also the unified modern mathematics textbook,which reflects the characteristics of the "new math" in the micro level. In the second chapter, the author tells the history in the1970s, which is characterized as "back to basic" of mathematics curriculum reform in the United States, and pay attention to interpretation of the curriculum reform in the1970s and the relationship between the previous phase and this period. In the third chapter, the author mainly discusses the "problem solving", which is the characteristic of mathematics curriculum reform in the1980s, and the trend of mathematics to all. In the fourth chapter, the author mainly tells the story of the mathematics curriculum reform since the1990s,which characterized as "curriculum standard","curriculum focus","equal opportunity", and to analyzes the connections between each other. Therefore, the epilogue of this dissertation will summarize the general characteristics and the trend of the mathematics curriculum in Unite states, and indicate the reference for the development of mathematics education in our country in the future.
