An Investigation And Research On The Current Situation Of The Development Of The Police PE Major In Jiangxi Provincial Police Colleges

Police physical education is the key to guarantee and improve physical qualityand policing skills of policeman, and it also plays an important role in improvingfighting capacity in public security organization.This research will combine theadvantage of the public security colleges with reformation of curriculun system inpolice P.E. of Jiangxi Province, thus, further put forward a plan on curriculum systemconstruction of police P.E in public security universities and colleges of Jiangxiprovince. This paper will be in accordance with the research thought, that is, topropose the problem, present situation analysis, and put forword countermeasures. Ituses such research methods as questionnaire survey method, literature review method,system analysis, etc to meditate and discuss about police P.E. curriculum system in ascientific and reasonable way, to analyze police P.E. curriculum system from fiveaspects------goals, settings, content, implementation and evaluation. It issummarized its important role of police P.E. in pubic security education,achievements and current problems encountered by police P.E. in public securitycolleges and universities of jiangxi province.First, curriculum objectives, which still fails to meet the needs of society, itssimple training objectives are transferred to multiple target. We haven’t take fulladvantage of schools’ superior resources to draft relatively distinctive curriculum goalwith reasonable layout and functional complementation effect.Second, curriculum content fails to solve the balance between highlighting themajor features and requirements for large and comprehensive in crriculum provision.Three, curriculum structure, in which with few optional courses the entire courseappears more rigid and insufficient of elasticity in structure and major coursesdominate the main place. It lacks organic integration in the overall course structure.Four, course implementation. There is a too simple way in curriculumimplementation. The rate that students participate in the course needs to be raised.teacher teaching is still the main way in classroom, so that students’ active participation and active construction are ignored.Five, course evaluation. Subjects, ways and content of evaluation are too simpleAnd there is lack of self-evaluation among students, teachers and schools.Quantitative evaluation has predominate while qualitative evaluation is ignored.Also less attention is placed on students’ learning attitude, habits, interests andemotional experience during learning process.Therefore, how to build a scientific and reasonable police P.E curriculum systemin public security universities and colleges of Jiangxi province, becomes the purposeof research. Firstly, we must not only set the course goal, but also adjust tocurriculum structure,while the most important thing is to optimize the course content.Secondly, to reform the implementation is to build police students’ bodies,acquire practical police skills and keep close to actual combat of public security work.The attention is shifted from students’ sports skills to professional skills. Toreconstruct police P.E curriculum system is to achieve the function of police P.Ecurriculum.Thirdly, the purpose to research on police P.E from five aspects includingcurriculum goals,settings, content, implementation and evaluation, is to build ascientific, reasonable and suitable of police P.E curriculum system in public securitycolleges and universities of jiangxi province.
