Discussion On Remake For Recent Domestic Teleplays

In recent years, the industry of Chinese teleplay develops rapidly. Remake, the concomitant partners for films and teleplays since the date of their birth, is an important method for creation of screen productions. Most literatures have been adapted to perform on screen, based on the revolution and development for relevant technologies. Synchronously, some foreign teleplays are very popular in China. To cater the requirement of youth viewership, remake becomes a new favorite for teleplay producer. Focusing on current situation of domestic teleplay, this thesis analyzes the reasons for huge productions but with low quality through the technique of drama-creation and the detailed segments of industrialization; reveals the deficiencies of original creation for domestic teleplays, through the phenomenon of following the general trend fervently for genre drama and custom drama. By comparing current domestic teleplays with each other and discussing the experience of successes and the lessons of failures, the author’s consider that to increase the intensity of original-creation with suitable references from existing experiences should be an outlet for the future of domestic and teleplays.Under the views of theory, society and culture, this dissertation focuses on the study of remake for recent Chinese teleplay. The whole thesis is divided into five chapters. In chapter1, the main theory and overall situation of remake for domestic teleplays are briefly summarized. The concept of remake is introduced according to its definition, development history, theory and necessity. The current situation of the study for remake is also discussed in this chapter. Chapter2introduces the conditions of domestic teleplays from two aspects, including expatiating the current living condition of domestic teleplays under the views of quantity, quality, content and characteristic and summarizing the detailed of current domestic teleplays, discussing the source of materials for remade teleplays from three aspects. In chapter3, the remakes of domestic teleplays are analyzed. By introducing the production process of teleplays, summarizing the current situation of domestic teleplays and comparing special cases to each other, we summarized the pros and cons of remake in different program formats. Based on the analysis of previous chapters, the problems and solutions of remake for domestic teleplays are summarized in the last chapter4. And also the successful factors and outlet of domestic teleplays are presented.
