Archaeological history research of the Inner Mongolia is an academic blind, arid only the senior scholars Mr. Tong Zhuchen, Mr. Li Yiyou and Mr. Chen Xingcan have explored such an area. Mr. Tong did the research of the eastern Inner Mongolia, Lee’s study was just the outline of summary, and Mr. Chen focused on the history of prehistoric archeology. The essay tries to explore further on the basis of the research by Mr. Tong, Mr. Lee and Mr. Chen with the object being the domain they do not have studied in-depth.Full-text consists of five parts:In the first part of paper is the preface. There is a discussion about the motivation for doing archaeological activities by foreign scholars in Inner Mongolia before1949, and then follows an introduction to the value of this write this paper, and after that, there is an overview of archaeological activity by in Inner Mongolia before1949. Besides, the paper briefly introduces the published archaeological reports and research results before1949, and in the end is a introduction to the research data after1949.The second part of the paper discusses the foreign scholars archaeological activities in the eastern region of Inner Mongolia, and there is a description of detail of Chifeng Hongshan, Zuzhou City, Liao Chingling archaeological activities, and finally there is a comment about archaeological report and archaeological research.The third part discusses the archaeological activities by foreign scholars in central Inner Mongolia, and the focus is the surveys and studies of the central region of Inner Mongolia Nestorian relics, and finally introduces the bronze cross found in Inner Mongolia region and the study of these relics.The fourth part discusses archaeological activities by the foreign scholars in the western Inner Mongolia, and the focus is Salawusu ruins of discovery and research by French scholars, and then follows the finding course of Khara-Khoto and introduces the unearthed heritage of ruins as well, and there is also an discussion of some preliminary research results. Finally the paper discusses the Sino-Swedish scientific mission of scientific Expedition to the North-Western Provinces of China in the west inner Mongolia.The fifth part follows the conclusion, which discusses how Chinese archaeologists use these archeologyical data after1949as well as the achievement.
