This is a project report on the translation of Green Economy in a Blue World(Chapter2) focusing on marine development and marine environmental protection.The chosen chapter discusses shipping as an important field of marine greeneconomy, faced with challenges and opportunities. This report explores thedifficulties and corresponding strategies of the translation illustrated with typicalexamples based on the Skopos Theory. Three major strategies including the freetranslation and literal translation, restructuring the broken sentences, and the use ofFour-character Chinese phrases are adopted to cope with corresponding difficulties intranslating titles and headlines, long and obscure English sentences and polishingChinese version so as to reproduce the information message of the original. In theend, the report lays out the enlightenments and lessons from translation and lists theproblems to be solved.
