Translation Practice Report On Green Building Proposal

This is a translation project report which is based on the translation of GreenBuilding Proposal. This translation practice mainly gives an account of green building,introduces the method of foreign countries in developing green building, barriers togreen building growth, green building policies and green building codes and so on.The author hopes that this translation project can become a reference to set up a greenbuilding system which adapts to the Chinese national condition and promotes thedevelopment of green building.The main contents of this report are divided into four parts: Part One is thetranslation project description, including project background, goals and significance;Part Two is the text characteristics and principles of translation standards of thistranslation project, including lexical characteristics, syntactic features and principlesof translation standards of this translation project. Part Three the most important partof the report concerns the analysis of the project. In the text, the author combins theexamples of the text to discuss the treatment for the difficult issues. Part Four isconclusion, this part concludes with the lessons and implications in the translationproject.Under the guidance of the Peter Newmark’s text category theory and combiningwith the content of the translation materials, the author defines this text as aninformative-function text. In the translation, the author based on the theories ofNewmark’s, guided by Skopostheory, uses variety of strategies to solve the difficultyin translation process, and hopes it can provide some references to similar translationpractice.
