In the setting of foreign students learning Chinese courses for a long-term study, newspapers and periodicals reading courses is listed as required or elective courses of junior and senior stages, which belongs to the language skills training courses in the specialized skill courses. The setting of newspapers and periodicals reading courses not only can provide abundant language reading materials for foreign students, but also can provide the latest information of Chinese language’s changes and development. What’s more, it can offer the latest dynamic information of Chinese language, and show a vast、realistic and vivid Chinese social and cultural background to ordinary Chinese learners. For in China, we studied teaching newspapers and periodicals reading courses of TCFL late, developed shortly. So relatively, the studies of teaching Chinese newspapers and periodicals is less, also comprehensive and systematic research lacks. Therefore, according to my own teaching practice, the writer discusses the intermediate classes of Chinese newspapers and periodicals.This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction part, that mainly summarizes the predecessors’achievements research, tells the reason and the significance of selecting the topic, introduces the research objects、ideas and methods of this article. The second chapter, from three aspects-the material selection, vocabulary and exercises, analyses three commonly used intermediate textbooks of Chinese newspapers and periodicals. And it determines the final selection of teaching textbook, through the positioning of newspapers and periodicals course and the comparison of the books content, style、 language etc. The third chapter focuses on the author’s own practice of teaching the courses, and contains the teaching aim, task, and the use of teaching methods. By the questionnaire and feedback of this course in fourth chapter, the author has carried on the thinking and exploration to teaching students intermediate press, hope to come up with some new、 constructive solutions for the future of composing textbook and teaching process. The fifth chapter is the conclusion part, summarizes the deficiencies of this paper.
