Qi Mountain is the provincial-level scenic spot in the south of Chizhou City, reaching from east to west, covering an area of2.5km2, with a height of87m, in the shape like a crouching tiger. In Zhenyuan years of Tang Dynasty, Qi Ying was mayor of Chizhou, he often visited this mountain, and the mountain was named after him.Qi mountain is known as the best of southern mountains, for Chizhou is the transition zone between Changjiang-Huaihe culture and Huizhou culture, and also a cultural resort from ancient time, attracting a large number of literati, dignitaries since Tang Dynasty, including Li Bai, Du Mu in Tang Dynasty, Bao Zheng, Wang Anshi, Sima Guang in Northern Song Dynasty, Yue Fei, Lu You in Southern Song Dynasty, Wang Shouren, Feng Shuji in Ming Dynasty, Zhao Guolin in Qing Dynasty. These famous celebrities climbed Qi Mountain, while enjoying the beautiful scenery, they were often touched due to their inner literary qualities, and left many poems and articles. Ancient Chinese literati has the tradition of inscription, according to statistics, the cliff inscriptions in Qi mountain are over200,60of which still exist, mainly in the mountains of Jiyin Rock, Little Jiuhua, Cangyu Gap, Huagai Cave, Zuoshi Cave, Yangchun Ridge. The cliff inscriptions can date back in Tang Dynasty, go through Song, Ming, Qing Dynasty, and even Republic period, most of them are in Ming Dynasty, less carved in, more carved out. The number of words varies, some are only a few, even the author of the inscriptions, and some are many, dozens or hundreds, forming a small article. In terms of calligraphy, cursive, running, regular, official, seal scripts can all be found. The most valuable part is that there were still6grotto sculptures and a drawing of two dragons playing with the pearl made in Zhiyuan Period of Ming Dynasty in Qi Mountain, which has high heritage value. Qi Mountain was rated as county-level cultural heritage In1982, was rated as provincial-level cultural heritage by People’s Government of Anhui Province in1989, the long history and rich cultural heritage can be well preserved. In recent years, China’s museology is developing fast, the study of cliff inscription also blooms. This article starts from the regional culture of cliff inscription of Qi Mountain, systematically summarizes the content and author of the existing60stone inscriptions, and analyzes its heritage value, artistic value and key features, and compares them with cliff inscriptions of Wuyi Mountain and Tai Mountain, strives to have new thoughts on the basis of previous studies and offers suggestions on further protection of cliff inscription, on the basis of a comprehensive survey on cliff inscriptions of Qi Mountain, highlights3aspects:heritage value, artistic features and how to further protect.This article summarizes the content of cliff inscription of Qi Mountain, which is the basis of the article, adopting comparative studying method and summarizing method, the structure is not entirely confined to the description of the content, but rather focuses on its heritage value, artistic value, key features, heritage protection, etc. The article is divided into five chapters, namely the introduction, historical and cultural background of Qi Mountain and its surrounding, the main content of cliff inscriptions of Qi Mountain, heritage value and artistic value, thinking and suggestions on future protection.The innovation and feature of the article lie in two parts:Firstly, the conception is new. From the perspective of museology to examine cliff inscriptions of Qi Mountain, it uses separate chapters to discuss heritage value and heritage protection when designing article structure, analyzes the heritage value of cliff inscriptions of Qi Mountain systematically and comprehensively, which is of practical value. Secondly, the content is comprehensive. The current academic research on cliff inscription is often restricted to some particular level, such as the cultural level, calligraphy level, protection level, etc., while this article chooses the cultural traits of Chizhou as a starting point, the cliff inscription must rely on a culture circle to survive, otherwise they would not last1,000years, and then conducts a comprehensive analysis of the cliff inscription of Qi Mountain.This article strives to comprehensively summarize the current academic research on cliff inscriptions of Qi Mountain, breaks the research limitations in one particular field, has certain innovations and traits, and offers directions and suggestions for further research on cliff inscriptions of Qi Mountain.
