A Research On Cliff Stone Of Ruiyan Mountain Scenic In Haikou

Cliff stone has important significance in Chinese cultural field as an important cultural heritage. There are many cliff stones in China. On one hand, because of its difficult to study it, many scholars are unable or unwilling to do the research. On the other hand, cliff stone in the scenic areas has been damaged more and more seriously because of prolonged exposure to sun and rain. The more serious the degree is, the more difficult the study is. It has formed a vicious spiral.The author was surprised to find that there are100cliff stones in Ruiyan Mountain scenic in Haikou city of Fuqing. This article is a result of the author’s investigation and research for three months. The main work is taking phots and recording those clearly visible cliff stone in Ruiyan Mountain scenic in Haikou.In this paper, author mainly does a research on70multiple cliif stones of Ruiyan mountain which can still be seen clearly now and classifies it into three categories, inscription, poetry and diary, and chant. It briefly expains the universal value of cliff stone.Cliff stone not only makes the scenics full of history and culture but also havs a certain relationship with the local folk customs and military activities in different period of time which is an important basis of history. In the latter part of this paper, author puts forward the problems of cliff stone existing now and its solutions according to the specific situation of Ruiyan Mountain’s cliff stone, especially the way how to disseminate it and promote the value of Fuqing’s cliff epigraph. This paper proposes many effective solutions contacting the specific local conditions, and fully uses of existing cultural resources in Fuqing.This paper has four chapters. The first chapter briefly introduces the general situation of Haikou Ruiyan Mountain scenic and its cliff stone, and then illustrates the concept of cliff stone. The second chapter mainly demonstrates the result of the research including historic figures and some concrete content of it and classifies those clearly visible cliff stones.The third chapter discusses the significance of it. The significance here has certain universality. First, it shows the charm. Second, it records important folk stories, military, education, culture and history in Fuqing which can be used as historical data. Third, all of it are excellent works of calligraphy and art.In the fourth chapter, I proposes the physical protection scheme of it according to the degree it has been damaged and puts forward how to use the existing resources to carry forward this culture.
