As the demand for simultaneous interpreting (SI) increases, simultaneous interpreter training programs are mushrooming. In these programs, a trainer would teach the trainees SI skills. But it takes off-class practice to make a qualified simultaneous interpreter. A scientific self-training system would improve the efficiency of the practice. However, by far, this field has not gotten enough attention. This paper is going to explore a scientific training system by focusing on self-evaluation.This paper builds a self-evaluation system that combines standards setting and process analysis evaluation and justifies it with cognitive psychology theory, and in particular, the theory of metacognition. Besides, this paper also proves this system sufficient with a series of experiments and the qualitative and quantitative analysis afterwards.Through not perfect, this paper aims at contributing as much as it could to help SI trainees improve the efficiency of self-training. The writer hopes that in future, more attention will be attached to this field and self-training can be made much more efficient.
