Practice Report On The Translation Of Angola ROSHA Residence Specifications

With developing of China’s economy, China has introduced many technology byintensifying the communication and corporation with foreign countries. Therefore, theimportance of the translation of technological documents becomes more and more obvious.This thesis presents the traits of project English included in technology English. Andaccording to different ones, the thesis also shows the corresponding translation methods.This thesis is a translation report on ROSHA Housing Project in Angola, which was fromSHIJIAZHUANG TONGUES TRANSLATION SERVICE company. This thesis describes thewhole process of translation. First, it presents the characteristics of the source text such as theprofessional vocabulary, complex syntax in logic,and impersonal tone,objective. According tothe above traits, this thesis puts forward the corresponding translation methods. For the firstone, translator should first make identification and classification of the professional words.For the second one, we should simplify the text by looking for the meaning unit, figure outthe logical relationship between meaning units and then put them into the right order. For thethird one, being faithful to the source text is the best choice. Use addition or deletion as littleas possible. Afterwards, the thesis shows some typical examples. Finally, according to thistranslation practice, the author shows her own understanding of ‘faithfulness’, namely, beingfaithful in vocabulary, logic and style of the source text.
