Practice Report On The Translation Of Energy Conservation And Environmental Protection Cooperation Projects In Hebei Province

With the increase of China’s comprehensive national power, there areincreasingly more and cooperation between China and other countries. Accordingly,there are increasingly more and more business attraction activities of the governments.The translation of the documents concerned is becoming more and more important.And there are more requirements on the translation. The governmental document--“Priority Projects on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industries ofHebei Province Seeking for International Cooperation” was issued by HebeiDevelopment and Reform Commission in2013. The writer of this report took part inthe English translation of this document. Accordingly, this report analyzes specifictranslation.This report includes four major parts--the task description, the proceduredescription, the case analysis and the conclusion. Focus is on the factors likevocabulary and syntactic structure. Analysis is made on the problems concerning withproper nouns and terms, long Chinese sentences, Chinese sentences without subjectsand the passive English sentences. And further discussions are made on the solutionsto the similar problems. It is hopefully helpful for the future learning and translation.It is also hoped that this report can deepen the understanding of suchtranslation and be helpful for such translation activities.
