"Guo X" question is strong in Nantong dialect. Through the detailed description of the"Guo X" questions and the use of comparative research methods and "three plane "theory ofsyntactic features, semantic features, pragmatic features, we attempt to reveal thecharacteristics of "Guo X" question in Nantong dialect.The syntactic representation of "Guo X" question in Nantong dialect.From the structuralcharacteristics,"Guo X" question can be divided into general-type, omitting type, additionaltype and mixed type.The interrogative adverb "Guo" and other adverbial co-occurrence,"Guo" sometimes is fixed on the front, sometimes before the post.The structure of "Guo X"can act as predicate, adverbial, complement, object in a sentence, but can not act as subject,attribute.There are several special usage of the "Guo X" questions,such as "Guo Dui""GuoShi""Guo Shi li a""Guo Zuoxing""Guo Fan de zhao""Guo Guoyi".The semantic representation of "Guo X" question in Nantong dialect. From the semanticplane firstly analyses the tense and aspect category of the "Guo X" questions and explores the"differences between "Guo X" and "Guo ceng X" which expressing the characteristics of thetense and aspect. Second discussions focus on the semantic features of "VP" and "AP". Thischapter also investigates that "Guo " has the feature of displaying interrogative focus,andfinds that interrogative adverbs "Guo" also has a semantic function to differentiate ambiguousstructure.Changes of "Guo X" interrogative function inNantong dialect."Guo X" question’sinquiry function has decayed and migrated.Synchronic comparison: it compares Nantong dialect with other dialects in Jiangsuprovince on"Guo X" question from the synchronic angle to reveal the the of commonality andindividuality of "Guo X" question in Nantong dialect.
