A Report On The Translation Of UNICEF Annual Report2012

This is a translation project report on UNICEF Annual Report2012. Thesourse text was released by UNICEF official website in June2013. The text statedand summarized the efforts and achievements made by UNICEF in2012,involving emergency relief, health care, education, food security, raising fundsand other fields, which is of great practical guiding significance for China’sphilanthropy.The main contents of this report are divided into four parts: Part One is thetranslation project description, including project background, objectives andsignificance. Part Two is the research background, including the theoretical basis offunctional equivalence, the introduction of the author, main contents and featureanalysis of the source text. Part Three is about translation difficulties andtranslation methods: proper nouns and long sentences are difficulties during thetranslation process. Translation methods include: conversion, inversion, division,and so on. Part Four summarizes the lessons learned in the process of translation,as well as problems yet to be resolved.
