Finally, he died of illness before he finished the book and entrust his good friend Zeng Guofan to come out the book. This article combed the process of the accomplish and content of the book systematically, furthermore, did the research about Mencius thought of Zhu Xi for which embodied in this book.This paper was divided in three parts and each section have progressive layers.The first part discoursed the sophisticated process of Mencius Summary and consequent problems. To start, the first part introduced the book that is written by Zhu Xi, which was lost, then Liu Chuanying compiled and finally inscribed by Zeng Guofan. Second, analyze the argument that posterity owed Mencius Summary to Zeng set. In addition, we have to in search of the root and put this book to Zhu Complete. Third, discussed the record of Mencius Summary.The second part and the third part were emphasis of this text, which mainly expounded content features for content analysis of Mencius Summary and interpretation of Zeng Guofan. The second part focused on the Mencius Summary in contrast to other writings on Mencius of Zhu Zi, in order to peek the Mencius of Zhu Zi.The third part focused on the analysis of note of Zeng Guofan so as to summarize Zeng’s depth study of Mencius Summary text and the emphasis on Mencius. Through the discussion, we can see Zeng’s inheritance and respecting on Zhu Xi Thought. However, there is a difference between Zeng and Zhu Zi for the choice of some content.
