| Academic procrastination, which is students have the intention to complete one task but without corresponding practice, has become a very common bad behavior among junior school students. It will not only affect the learning achievements but also bring bad emotional experience to students. Until recently, lots of researches about the factors affecting academic procrastination have been reported, and the cognitive factor, emotional factor and personality factor were the three main factors. However, many studies were only paying attention to the influence of a single aspect to academic procrastination until the research of future time perspective was rising.The future time perspective is a relative stable personality that refers to the cognition, experience and behavior tendency of an individual to the future time. It contains the three main factors that affecting the academic procrastination. Exsiting results indicated that future time perspective could affect the procrastination behavior, but the detail affecting process is unclear. Besides, as the initial stage of an individual for the future exploration, it is worth to deeply investigate the future time perspective of junior school students. Additionally, perceived academic self-efficacy is the embodiment of self-efficacy in academic field, and it also pointed to the future of an individual as well as the future time perspective. Whether academic procrastination, future time perspective and perceived academic self-efficacy are related to each other is also the focus of this study.Based on the literature, using the method of questionnaire,570students of five junior schools in Wuhan was investigated. The three questionnaires for survey were Teenagers’future time perspective scale, Academic self-efficacy questionnaire and Academic procrastination scale. Descriptive analysis, interrelated analysis and regression analysis were got from date of the investigation with the help of SPSS. The main conclusion is as following:1. The future time perspective and perceived academic self-efficacy has a significantly positive correlation, but both future time perspective and perceived academic self-efficacy have significantly negative relationships with academic procrastination among the junior school students investigated.2. In the students investigated, the parts of future plan and future adhere in future time perspective have significantly negative predictive function to academic procrastination.3. Perceived academic self-efficacy of junior school students has significantly negative predictive function to academic procrastination. 4. Academic self-efficacy play totally intermediary role between future time perspective and academic procrastination. |
