Objective: To investigate the current situation of academic procrastination among high school students,explore the relationship between meaning in life,future time perspective and academic procrastination among high school students,and explore the influence of group psychological counseling themed on academic procrastination on junior high school students.Method: In study 1,587 high school students were selected as subjects.Using the Scale of Meaning in life for Middle School Students,the Scale of future time perspective for Adolescents and the Aitken Procrastination Questionnaire(Chinese version),the research status of academic procrastination,meaning in life and future time perspective for high school students was reviewed.And further explore the relationship between high school students’ academic procrastination,meaning in life,future time perspective;In study 2,questionnaire,interview,observation and experiment methods were used.Based on the results of study 1,24 students whose academic procrastination score was lower than 27% were selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 12 students in each group.The 12 students in the experimental group received 8 times of "Hope for the future" group psychological counseling with academic procrastination as the theme.A control group of 12 students received no tutoring;After the end of the auxiliary group,the students in the experimental group and the control group were tested and followed up one month later.Result: 1.The overall level of meaning in life was lower than the average level,and there were differences in gender,grade and subject.The overall level of future time perspective was lower than average,and there were significant differences in gender.The overall score for academic procrastination is above average,and there is a significant difference in whether one is an only child.2.Meaning in life was significantly positively correlated with future time perspective,and significantly negatively correlated with academic procrastination.There was a significant negative correlation between future time perspective and academic procrastination.3.Meaning in life had 75.5% impact on academic procrastination through future time perspective.4.After group psychological counseling,the students in the experimental group significantly reduced their academic procrastination level.Conclusions: 1.There is a close relationship between meaning in life,future time perspective and academic procrastination,and future time perspective partially mediates the relationship between meaning in life and academic procrastination.2.Group intervention in high school students’ meaning in life and future time perspective can effectively improve academic procrastination behavior.
