The Study On The Chinese Painting Study Library Of National Museum Of Art

The Chinese Painting Study Library of National Museum of Art, Peiping was founded in January,1937. Apart from the displays of the museum, it also has the Chinese painting study library for teaching students. From May1st,1937to the end of1946, which is9years, the library recruited266students for5phases. In the painting circle of Peiping in Republican period, there formed a bundle of painters studying on the collections of the Imperial Palace. But in the study on Chinese art history of the20th century, the teachings focused on "copying the ancient painting", which contradicts with modern thoughts greatly. Thus the history of this period is often ignored, and a lot of materials are concealed, which caused relative history hard to reveal and the loss of art history.This paper mainly used literature and empirical method, assisted by that of oral history and through comparison, analysis, trimming and synthesis, to trim and expatiate the system, organization, copying teaching and related exhibitions of the Chinese painting study library of National Museum of Art, Peiping, and it tried to reveal this history. The paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter,"the examine on reasons", mainly testified the reason of its foundation and the basic knowledge of the sponsors, focusing on the history during the foundation of the museum to the foundation and operation of the library; the second chapter,"examine on the system", mainly examined the recruiting system and the daily copying teaching of the library, and paying attention to the system of the study results exhibition and related works; the third chapter,"examine on deeds", mainly examined the basic status of the tutors closely related with the teaching and study of the library, as that of Binhong Huang, Shiming Qiu, Zhizhen Yu, Shiguang Tian, among which Zhizhen Yu and Shiguang Tian are the students of the first phase and stayed for teaching after graduation. The materials are short for the teachings at the library were their early art activity. Besides, this paper trimmed related materials and compiled the list for all of the researchers of the library, the list for results of the students of the library, and the list for the outlines of the courses of the library, all of which serve as appendix for inquiry.
