In2010, the emergence of two network movies Old Boy and Four NightsLegends reignited the heat of network films which boasted ten years’ history,triggering a cinema craze and burning debate on China’s Internet movies. As a newmovie art form, network movies break through the traditional p rofessional mediasector-led visual transmission. In accordance with the demands of audience under thenetwork era, that is, participation in the screenwriter and equal dialogue, networkmovies have a positive theoretical value and practical significance.Network movie is the multilateral product under the growth of digital mediatechnology and video sites as well as pluralistic society and the fragmentation of livingtime and space. It is characterized by short-term feature, individual, Interactive. All ofthese differ network movie from traditional one and require network movie to find outa sutiable way so as to maintain a favorable position in the competiotion of futuremovies. In the thesis, an in-depth analysis interpretation are carried out from theperspectives of text and acceptance, both of which play key roles in nertwork movies.As for text, the thesis analyzes the postmodern narrative form of network movies.Specifically, it illustrates how small narrative rebels grand narrative in the ways of thenarrative subject, topic content, narrative style; it elaborates multiple narrative basedon youth and homosexual narrative. Besides, it also introduces three kinds of narrativemodes network movie derives in hypermedia environment, that is, nonlinear narrat ive,interactive narrative and fragmented narrative. Finally, it provides an inductiveanalysis narrative themes of network movies, like dream, love, humor, social hot spots.As for text, the thesis combines the analysis of the network movies with the usin g ofthe narrative theories and discusses the textual features of the network movies fromthree aspects: the theme of network movies,narrative strategy and language. And thenthis thesis makes a research on the accepted subject of the network movies,summar izesthe demographic characters and acceptable behavior of the accpetable subjects,discusses the whole new aesthetic experiences that the active participation of thenetwork movies brings,elaborates the four different acceptable psychologies of thenetwork movies,and makes a comprehensive analysis on the characteristics of thenetwork movies’ accpetable subjects.Based on the analysis and summary of the textand acceptance, this thesis finally put forward the suggestions of the network movies’development: enriching the subject matter of the works, perfecting picture quality, improving the depth of the thought, paying attention to the interactive works, hoping tomake inspirations to the benign development of the network movies.
